So, the other day I posted a blog about a group of folks in Apalachicola who grunt for worms. Apparently, I didn’t know the ecological and economical significance of this muscular worm that moves from the ground to a can to a styrofoam cup to a hook, and hopefully, to the inside of fish’s mouth.
I just finished perusing Kenneth Brower’s article in the Atlantic Online about the earthworm. (I know this article is a bit old, but give me a break, I’m getting old too.) Wow! This guy did his homework on the topic. I ain’t going to bore you much with the details, but if you are man enough to read through this puppy, you will come out knowing more than you ever thought you would about the earthworm.
There are plenty of other folks writing about this phenomenon:
Love to hear your thoughts after you read Brower’s article or some of these others that I listed. Or before you read if you know that much about these North Florida creatures.
