When I use a title like the one above it’s usually about someone else. But this one is about me. When I began this little soiree called Suwannee Refugee, it was more therapeutic than anything else. I was in Africa not knowing whether I was going stay on the Dark Continent or come back to the greatest state in the Union.
I wrote about anything I could find on Florida. But the main category was writing about the Suwannee River. It was a symbol that I could hang on to and long for. I read stories about it and dreamed about the day that I would no longer be a refugee away from my home.
That day finally came when I returned to the U.S. I was no longer a refugee, but a citizen, again. And thus, it has come time to change the name of this blog to The Florida Blogger. This had been on my mind for a while, but only when I read The Travelling Writer (formerly known as Aspiring Author) did I know what needed to be done. Blogs should follow a person’s life allowing for name changes, if necessary.
Now, you might be asking yourself what kind of changes will accompany such a prestigious name change. None, really, other than the title. The url will remain the same. What I write about will also remain the same. The only change will be the title, which will more accurately depict where I’m at in life and this blog.
Enjoy!
