I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but there is a great brewery in Tampa called Cigar City. Oddly enough it doesn’t have anything to do with cigars. There are no cigars to be found on the property unless you bring your own.
I’ve been going to Cigar City for a few months now. It’s located just off of Dale Mabry and I-275, right behind the Target shopping center.
Their beer is fantabulous. I can’t say enough good things about it. Great selection. Taps. Bottles. Guest taps. Mmmmmmmmm… And they are always tinkering with new brews, although I’m just a sucker for a good simple Imperial Pale Ale (IPA), like Jai Alai.
I was reading Food & Wine magazine (June 2011) this past weekend and found Cigar City was mentioned twice. Twice. This should come as a ‘Take That’ Colorado. Florida can brew beer too. Food & Wine is a major publication and Cigar City should be proud that they made it into it.
If you’re ever in the mood to try some beer straight from the keg to the tap, look no further than Cigar City.
PS. If anyone from Cigar City reads this little Florida boy’s blog and would like to do an interview, just drop me a line or comment in this blog post. I would love be a part of your growth.
