My dad loves bluegrass. I mean really loves it. He travels all over Florida and even out West to listen to mandolins and banjos. So, I thought it Sunday School for Sinners at the Independent would be a good event for him to hear.
Sunday School for Sinners is basically bluegrass and brews. The Independent is located in the Seminole Heights District of Tampa facing N. Florida Ave. I wasn’t sure how busy it would be so, we met there about six o’clock leaving 30 minutes to spare.
Note to self: Get there earlier next time.
It was packed outside where the band out of Gainesville was set.
As always the beer selection was stellar. I had a Lost Coast . Even as much as I enjoy IPAs, DIPAs are even better. There’s no truth to the say about there being too much of a good thing. We all got reubens and hummus, but I was eyeing up the chicken salad sammich. Maybe next time.
Have any of ya’ll been to the Independent? Sunday School for Sinners? Thoughts?
BTW-I have a post coming soon interviewing the owner of Independent Tampa. Very excited to get this opportunity!
