There’s not a lot of places, I’ve haven’t been in Florida. And I’m ashamed to say that the Everglades is on that list. I’ve heard a lot about it, but just haven’t found the time to scoot off down there. When I do head that far south, I tend to skip past the ‘glades for the balmier weather of the Keys.

I found this article printed in the Lakeland Ledger. It was a reprint from the Sun-Sentinel by Mike Clary. Clary highlights a family, the Jones’, who for generations have been stalwarts in this neck of the country owning Mack’s Fishing Camp. Now, through government intervention, they will continue to have a say in the health of ‘glades.
Although I’ve never been, I can picture this place being a rustic, swampy, old, rundown, kind of place that when you arrive you wonder why you didn’t get there sooner. Places like these are hard to find in our technological world. The Orlando Sentinel does a slide show of Mack’s through the years.
